Q1. What made you want to become a chef?

My name is Kaito Yagisawa and I joined the company in 2023. I work in the pastry chef unit at Karuizawa Hotel Breston Court.

The reason I decided to become a chef was when I was in elementary and junior high school, I was cooking with my mother's help, and it was so much fun that I gradually started cooking on my own, so I started cooking dinner for my family and feeding it to them. When I received it, my family said ``Thank you'' and ``It's delicious!'' I was so happy that I decided to become a chef. Also, I have a younger brother who doesn't like vegetables, so I thought about ways to get him to eat delicious vegetables. As I was cooking, I grew to like vegetables more and more and decided to become a chef.

Q2. Reason for choosing Hoshino Resorts

I'm from Nagano Prefecture, and Karuizawa Breston Court serves dishes using a lot of local ingredients, so I thought, ``I want to cook using local ingredients.'' That's why I chose Karuizawa Hotel Breston Court.

Q3. Current work content and motivation

Currently, our main business is to provide breakfast for guests staying at Hotel Breston Court and food at the reception venue. In particular, at the reception venue, we prepare the food in advance, assemble the dishes for the day, and pasteurize the meat for the main dish. What makes it so rewarding is hearing the happy voices of customers from the service staff who are serving the food, and hearing the smiles and voices of joy from customers while working in the open kitchen, which makes me very happy. It's become rewarding.

Q4. What is unique about Hoshino Resorts?

What I think is typical of Hoshino Resorts is that the work is something that I'm interested in, that I can actively take on the challenge of work that I want to do, and that there are situations where I can express my opinions even though there is a senior-junior relationship. Since I joined the company, I had a solid training schedule and received solid support from those around me, so I was able to start working without any worries.

Q5. How do you spend your holidays?

On my days off, I often hang out with people at work and friends from my hometown. People at work often find a restaurant that interests them because of their job and go out to eat with the cooking team. Recently, I went to eat duck tsukemen in Matsumoto. I'm also good friends with my classmates who don't cook, so in the summer we had barbecues with a large number of people. I often go to Round One with my local friends to exercise and have drinks at home.
