What made you decide to join the company?

I was attracted to the idea of being able to convey the charms of the region from various angles.

Ever since I was little, I had dreamed of working in the hotel industry, and while I was looking for a job, I also looked at different industries and fields, but the feeling that "I want to work in a hotel" was so strong that I narrowed my job search down to the hotel industry.

During my seminar activities, I studied regional revitalization, so I was mainly looking for a job in the hotel industry that would allow me to have a close connection to the local community. That's when I came across Hoshino Resorts. I was attracted to the idea of working at Hoshino Resorts, where I would be able to experience the different charms of each facility, and imagine the moment when customers visit each facility, experience the charm of that facility, and fall in love with the area, and so I decided to work for Hoshino Resorts.

What is your current job and what is rewarding about it?

In my current job, I perform a wide range of tasks from cooking to cleaning, but I am focusing on working at the front desk and as part of the local Raku team.

Local entertainment is the hospitality of "Kai," and we offer local entertainment as special hospitality that is unique to each region. The motto of KAI Alps' local entertainment is "a deep country experience around the hearth," and we offer local entertainment that allows you to enjoy different atmospheres depending on the time of day.

At Gotochiraku, we change the atmosphere and prepare different furnishings throughout the year, so it is very rewarding for me when customers tell us they want to return in a different season.

In my front desk in-charge duties, I am most involved with checking out customers, so it is very rewarding for me to be able to witness the moment when customers enjoy their stay and depart with a smile on their face.

How do you think your past experiences have been put to good use?

I had planned to study abroad when I was a university student, but I couldn't go because of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in my current job, there are many inbound customers who come to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route in the summer, and ski and snowboard in the winter. When I wanted to study abroad, I had a goal of getting a job in the future where I could interact with many overseas customers, but I had to give up on that dream, and I almost gave up on it, but now, as I work as a member of society, I have many opportunities to interact with many people from overseas, and I realize that I can make my dreams come true in these ways, in different ways.

How do you spend your holidays?

On my days off, Nagano Prefecture is a place rich in nature, so I like to spend my days relaxing by going to see beautiful scenery and eating delicious food.

In the winter, Kai Alps is closed in December, but last year I took advantage of that closure to go on a trip to Hawaii. Other than that, I work hard with the goal of staying at other facilities throughout the year by taking advantage of the employee discount prices.
