Q1. Reason for choosing Hoshino Resorts

This is Madoka Abe from HOSHINOYA Karuizawa Service Team. She joined the company in April 2023, and seven months have finally passed.

I had the experience of living overseas when I was a student, and when I saw Japan at that time from overseas, I found it very fascinating, and I would like people overseas to know about the great things about Japan. I did. Among them, there are Hoshino Resorts all over the country, and I think they are facilities that really communicate the charm and history of Japan, so I worked there and was able to convey the goodness of Japan myself. I thought that I wanted to become a successful person.

Q2.Why did you choose Karuizawa Meister course?

Personally, I always want to approach my work with a new mindset, and the Karuizawa Meister course allows me to visit various facilities over the course of two years, so I can grow myself and experience fresh ideas. I felt that I wanted to approach my work with passion.

Q3. Current work content and motivation

I work on a variety of multitasking tasks every day, including front office duties such as serving breakfast and checking in, as well as room cleaning and cooking. When I interact with guests, such as checking them in, my actions make them smile and make them happy. There are times when things don't go well in my day-to-day work, but I get advice from my peers and seniors, and when I do it myself through trial and error, and when things go well, I feel a sense of accomplishment. When I feel that, I feel a sense of fulfillment and am glad I did it.

Q4. What is unique about Hoshino Resorts?

I myself am involved in the breakfast business at Japanese Restaurant Kasuke, and when I thought about how I could make Japanese Restaurant Kasuke even more exciting, I realized that I wanted people from overseas to enjoy their stay even more. I thought it would be great if I could create an English manual for breakfast to better convey the appeal of breakfast, so I am also involved in creating such an English manual. I also think it's great to have an environment where so many staff members support you in your various interests, regardless of your year.

Q5. How do you spend your holidays?

I have eight classmates, and we often go out to eat together after work and go on trips outside the prefecture on our days off. The other day, I went to Risonare Atami and went to Gifu Prefecture to eat Nagashi Somen. Also, when I return to my hometown, I go to cheer on the lacrosse games I used to play when I was a student, and I go out to eat with friends from my school days and have a great time.
