The indoor bath, which is filled with the scent of cypress, has a 7.6-meter-high ceiling and large windows. The view from the windows gives you a sense of unity with the pond and forest that spread out before you. For a limited time, the indoor bath will be filled with a total of 1000 apples, including both the men's and women's baths. Enjoy the sweet, refreshing scent of apples as you gaze upon the autumn-colored trees.

As sustainable as possible

The apples used are non-standard apples that were damaged by bad weather such as frost and hail during the flowering season. Tombo no Yu uses them in order to reduce apple waste while allowing customers to enjoy autumn in Shinshu.

In 2020, the group began an "apple soil" initiative, in which they compost their own used apples. This year marks the fourth year of the initiative, and the first apples are expected to be harvested from seedlings grown using the apple soil. Since there is a limit to the number of apples that can be harvested, the group will process the apples into chips and sell them with soft serve ice cream for a limited time.

The best time to see the autumn leaves in Karuizawa is from mid-October to early November. For a limited time, the area will be lit up so that you can enjoy the autumn leaves.
