Hoshino Community Base Karuizawa Asia Black Bear ClassroomEvent period 2024/10/29

We live at the foot of Mt. Asama, and wild animals such as Asiatic black bears live right next to us. “Do bears really exist?” “What do they eat?” “What should I do if I bump into them?” A bear expert will tell you everything you need to know about bears when living in Karuizawa. Masu.

Picchio, which has been working on coexistence with Asiatic black bears for over 20 years, holds classes to learn about bears at all elementary schools in Karuizawa Town. A portion of this class will be reorganized for adults and will be held as the "Karuizawa Asiatic Black Bear Classroom." We will use the knowledge of bear experts to tell you about the habits of Karuizawa's bears and specific ways to prevent accidents in your daily life.
