Hoshino Community Base My first forest skating experienceEvent period 2024/11/06-7, 11/13-14

This year, the skating rink has opened at Keraike Pond in the Karuizawa Hoshino area.

Karuizawa has long been a popular place for skating, and the predecessor to this rink was an ice hockey rink built around 28. In Karuizawa, where the coldest days of winter continue for many days during the harsh winter, skating has long been synonymous with winter sports. There was even a time when a special train called the "Ginpan-go Skating Train" was operated from Tokyo.

Hoshino Community Base, whose theme is "Enriching life in Karuizawa," planned a trial session with a mini lesson so that locals could enjoy skating, which is rooted in the Karuizawa culture, together.

This content is perfect for those who are "skating for the first time" or "it's been a long time since I last skated." From how to put on your skates to how to move forward on your own, master the basics and make your skating debut!
